Explore Michigan: Mackinac Island
A beautiful place to visit in Michigan is Mackinac Island. It is in Lake Huron, between the upper and lower peninsulas of Michigan. Mackinac Island State park has woods, trials and limestone Arch Rock formations, of which covers most of the island. The Richard and Jane Manoogian Mackinac Art Museum has lots of local work of which include Native American maps, art and 19 century photos.
This recent summer our family took a vacation on the island. One of the things you should know is that there are two choices when it comes to hotels. You can either stay out of the island or stay in the island. If you want to stay in a island hotel, I would recommend one named “ Grand Hotel” of which is located on Northern Michigan’s Mackinac Island. The hotel makes you feel as thought you were in a era of the old world’s charm and hospitality.
Some of the activities you can so there is Afternoon Tea in the Parlor, Horse-drawn carriages, Croquet and bocce in the Tea Garden. Along with Dressing up fancy for dinner and nightly dancing to the music of the Grand Hotel Orchestra. It also includes sitting in a rocking chair on the world’s longest porch with views of Mackinac.
If you choose not to stay at the Island at night time, make sure to always check the fair time to leave the island, its very important! There are two company’s that provide traveling. The two companies name are Star LIne and Sheplre’s of which are the same price as the ferry. The weather there is absolutely marvelous as well as the views you see , I do highly recommend you travel there during august as in October the island hotels are closed.I had a absolutely wonderful time there, many stores you can visit like clothes, flowers store, and food along with many others. It was so fun I wish I got to stay there forever.
